Teachers' Day

Teachers and students celebrated Teachers' Day on 25 May 2007. The day started with a special assembly held in the hall. Students from the primary and secondary divisions gathered in the lobby before assembling in the hall.

The assembly started with the singing of the national anthem and a speech from Mr. Peter Tan regarding all that teachers have done for the students. Mr. Putera led the teachers with the Teachers' Pledge and song entitled 'Kami Guru Malaysia'. It was fun watching the tables being turned.

The climax of the celebration was the cake cutting ceremony by the principals. After that, teachers' were entertained with dance performances by the Primary 4 Lily and Jeremie Gan of Primary 4 Orchid. The teachers and students were stunned at how good they were.Later the head prefect of the primary division, Rachel Tan, gave her speech. She talked about how wonderful and satisfying a teacher's job could be. She would also like to follow in her mother's footstep and be a great teacher some day.The performances continued after that with a dance performance by the Primary 4 Lily dancing to Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend' and a singing performance by Akmal and Rikesh singing 'Everything I Do I Do It for You'.Then there were speeches by Mr. George, the senior assistant of the secondary division, Mrs. Lee, the principal of the secondary division and Kenneth Yong, the head prefect of the secondary division. Their speeches were very touching and meaningful. Students of Primary 5 Lily then recited a poem for the teachers. After that, was a thrilling band performance by Khor Wern Cher, Melvyn Lee, Tharanee Ravi, and Rachel Choe of Form 3 Alpha.

Then Mr. George presented Mrs. Lee a retirement gift. Kenneth Yong presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs. Lee as a token of appreciation.After that, the secondary students were led to the lobby while the primary students stayed in the hall to have parties. Teachers and students from the secondary students sat down to a scrumptious lunch in the lobby.The day ended with the teachers and students enjoying themselves. It was indeed an unforgettable experience for the teachers and students of Sri Sedaya
